Summary: After World War II deeply impacted Grinnell College, Grinnell citizens provided the institution with financial support to purchase land for a factory to build a foundry to lease to Marshalltown’s Lennox Furnace Company. In 1951, Lennox sold the lease to the Donaldson Company, and Donaldson’s factory survived until 2014.
