Background Note: Sit n’Knit was formed in 1976 when several women began to meet on Thursday afternoons at the home of Mary Lou Clotfelter to “work on various projects, share expertise, and provide one another with friendship and support”. Over the years, more than 130 women have participated, although approximately 10-20 attend each session. While the focus of the group was not originally charitable, the members have contributed sweaters to the Guidepost Project and caps for newborns at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
