Background Note: The Greater Grinnell Development Corporation was founded in 1965 by Al Eisenman, Addison Jones, and Al Pinder, with the purpose of promoting and assisting new and existing industrial development in Grinnell, thereby creating a climate which would attract jobs to the community. With the help of Ted Clausen, City Manager, they purchased and developed the land which was to become the Industrial Park, which generated some 600 jobs.

On October 1, 2002, a Founders Celebration Dinner was held to honor the four principals. The records in the collection document that event.
