Summary: Grinnell College graduate Dr. Robert Norton practiced medicine in Can Tho, Vietnam, in 1964.After a Des Moines Register article about the limited supplies of the hospital, the Jaycees and the Grinnell Ministerial Association co-sponsored a successful fund drive in support of Dr. Norton’s hospital. After leaving Vietnam, Dr. Norton continued his surgical career at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center.
