Background Note: Beryl Wellborn came to Grinnell as a professor in the Department of Education, Grinnell College in 1958. He retired from the college in 1994. For some years in between, he left the employ of the college to serve as Curriculum Director for the Grinnell-Newburg School District and later as a consultant for two publishing companies. In the Grinnell community, Beryl served on the G-N School Board, the Iowa Valley Community College Board of Trustees, the State Board of Community Colleges, and the board of Stewart Library. He passed away on Oct. 7, 2018.
