Background Note: The [Roger] Preston Studio was located at 927 Broad Street in the 1944 City Directory. These photographs were found in the basement the contiguous 925 Broad Street building in late 2012 by the new business occupants (Poweshiek County CR, Chronicle Republican, Pennysaver).
Container List: Original newspaper article from Poweshiek County CR, dated December 12, 2012, pg. 4 on the treasures found in the building basement; photocopy of the newspaper article; photocopies from 1940 City Directory; list of photos with some identification; thirteen 5 x 7 black and white photos and one 3” x 3” black and white photo of Grinnell College students; one 5x7 negative; a CD of the scanned photos.
