Note générale
The Women's Alliance committee (WAC) was founded by members of the Women's Association (association of women faculty and staff) as a presidential committee under George Drake in the spring of 1989. The committee represented women faculty and staff at the college. Members of the committtee were nominated by all of the faculty and staff and included at least six administators, six faculty members, (at least two of whom were tenured) and ten other staff members from each of the major subgroups at the college. The purpose of WAC was to identify women's concerns and issues on campus and improve the campus climate for all people. WAC addressed issues such as the maternity leave policy, sexual assault and harassment on campus, and affirmative action. Due to disagreements between the committee and President Pamela Ferguson as to the purpose of the committee, WAC disbanded in the spring of 1995.
