The Grinnell chapter was founded as Zeta Omicron in 1980 and in 1981 moved to exemplar status to take over the Xi Gamma Mu chapter effective May 27, 1982. In addition to social and educational programs for members, the group has offered support to school libraries, the Community Theater, the Grinnell Day Care Center, Hospice, Second Mile, and MICA and other projects. The chapter disbanded in 2014.
