Background Note: The collection consists of a variety of handwritten and typed materials pertaining to the early history of Grinnell. From the correspondence accompanying the transcripts, it appears that Dora (Mrs. George) of the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution solicited the materials with the intention of compiling and publishing a history of Grinnell, There is no evidence that the project was ever completed. The articles are listed below with the names of the contributors where available. (Copies of some articles also are housed in the pamphlet file)
