Background Note: The Grinnell Community Art Gallery was organized under the auspices of the Grinnell Area Arts Council in 1982. (Papers relating to its organization are stored in Collection #38, Carton II, Series #15, Folder #4C.) The gallery was coordinated by the members of the Mayor’s Art Gallery Committee,# who schedule and arrange for the installation of exhibits. Minutes and correspondence are currently stored in the Grinnell City Offices.
