Summary: The life of Sebert Dove, the first Jamaican student to attend Grinnell College, class of 1924. He was brought to the college by Edward Steiner and became deeply involved with the community of Rosenwald Scholars and the African American community in Grinnell. His career was centered around improving African American communities throughout the country as a teacher, architect, and public service administrator.
