Summary: Six cottages along State street between 1st and 2nd Ave, beginning 608 State St. with the south house of the row. Lots 2-6 of the same block 21 (now State St.) were given by J.B. Grinnell and his wife to "Trustees of the Literary Fund of Grinnell, Iowa" in 1855. The Sanders family guardian sold the property for $1000 in 1882, and the District Court of Poweshiek County sold it to A. R. Heald. Charles Booknau purchased the row in Apr 1919.
