Summary: Built in 1895 by Bernard J and Ellen Carney in the architectural style of Queen Anne and Richardsonian Romanesque. Grinnell College used the house as freshman dormitories from 1936 - 1950s. Since 1993, Ray and Dorothy Spriggs have owned and operated the house as the Carriage House Bed and Breakfast. The house is part of the North Grinnell Historic District.
