Consists of approximately 200 color slides taken on the Grinnell College campus between 1955-1959.

This collection was gathered by George T. McJimsey, professor of History at Iowa State University, in the process of writing his book Harry Hopkins: Ally of the Poor and Defender of Democracy. Included are articles written by Hopkins, his personal and professional correspondence, WPA files, minutes from the meetings of the American Association of Social Workers, War Munitions Board minutes, Lend- Lease files, diary entries of top government officials, American Red Cross files among others.

The collection contains information relevant not only to researchers studying Hopkins but also Roosevelt, World War II, Lend- Lease, the New Deal, social work, the American Red Cross, Secretary of War Henry Stimson, the FERA, WPA, CWA, American Association of Social Workers, New York BCW, and NYTBA.

The research is drawn from several collections including the Hopkins Papers at the FDR Library in Hyde Park, the National Archives, the George C. Marshall Papers, the Social Work History Archives in Minneapolis, the Harry S. Truman Library, Parks Library of Iowa State University, New York State Library at Albany, the Library of Congress, University of Virginia Library, the Houghton Library of Harvard University among many others.

Consists of photographs, programs, and other materials from the Girls Glee Club trip in 1912 and from the Class of 1914 reunion.

The collection consists of invitations, announcements, notes, programs, college publications, notebooks, an issue of a newspaper, certificates and teaching recommendations.

Personal and college correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, programs, school paperwork, and small artifacts (class ring, Maltese cross charm, and watch fob).

Studio photographs of 19 members of Grinnell College class of 1894 including Josiah Bushnell Grinnell, the namesake of the town founder, and one photograph of Alice Dunham Hannay, class of 1893. Also included are short reminiscences written by Marian Dunham regarding Josiah B. Grinnell, Arthur C. Lyon, Dr. Pearl Somers, and Garrett P. Wyckoff, members of the class of 1894. Photographs are identified as: Benjamin F. Arnold, Charles E. Arnold, Geneva A. Bigelow, Harry L. Brown, John Peet Clyde, William R. Gelston, Josiah B. Grinnell, Charles W. Hackler, Joseph H. Hathaway, George E. Hilsinger, Arthur C. Lyon, Margaret A. Pepoon, William R. Raymond, Paul W. Richards, Pearl E. Somers, Ernest Walker, Garrett P. Wyckoff, Joseph Whyte.

These papers include typed and handwritten manuscript copies of Kemmerer’s poems, stories, and reminiscences, most of which were unpublished.

Consists of 1973 faculty Christmas letter sent by the Alumni Office and 27 responses received by Liberman. Most comment on the May 1970 closing of the college.

Louis Hartson received his bachelor’s degree from Iowa College in 1908 and returned to teach psychology from 1911-23.  Between the years 1973 and 1976, he recorded his memories of those years and of the following 19 years at Oberlin College.  These memoirs as well as several personal letters are held in this collection.

This collection of letters, lecture notes and research notes documents the history of Duane Krohnke's biographical research about Joseph Welch '14, and Edward Burling ', and his work with the Grinnell Summer Program for Lawyers in the summer of 1984.

This oral history collection is a celebration of nearly 70 years of Grinnell College history as told through the words of people who have studied, worked, and played at this institution.

Drawn from interviews with more than 50 alumni, these remembrances tell not only about the specifics of college life, but also about the collective identity of the Grinnell community.  These interviews offer insight into the successes and struggles of individuals and into the traditions and values that define Grinnell, whether they occurred in 1925, 1945, 1972, or 1992.

This collection includes correspondence from the 1940s, memoirs of Grinnell College in the 1880s, class letters and other related materials.

Mary Gae Wyly graduated from Grinnell College in 1962 and served as a librarian from 1968 to 1976.  This collection contains documents from her desk files, including one on the hiring of blacks and women, and a survey of women on campus for the improvement of Grinnell.
