Tony Blair Letter 1992-1993

This letter, dated May 22, 1992, is form Tony Blair, M.P. in the House of Commons, to Donna Vinter, Director of the Grinnell-in-London program, about the placement of a student. A second letter, dated April 30, 1993, is from Roz Preston, PA to Tony Blair, M.P.

Walter Scott Hendrixson Notebooks and Slides 1890-1920

Consists of lantern slides of late 19th and early 20th century chemical aparatus and four notebooks of chemical notes.  Professor William C. Oelke suggests that Hendrixson had equipment to copy pictures from books and may have photographed the portraits and laboratory apparatus from published material to use in his class teaching.

Wendell Oliver Metcalf attended Grinnell College from 1923-1926. He died in 1993.

Included are “memories of a Freshman Year”, a reminiscence given at the class of 1940’s 50th reunion dinner on June 2, 1990, as well a “Moments in a Grinnell Experience” given at the Class of 1940’s 55th reunion dinner on June 2, 1995. These typed speeches include photographs of comical sketches of the Grinnell experience as drawn by Wes Davies. In an oversize drawer marked “Moments in a Grinnell Experience”, there are drafts of the sketches, full-sized sketches, and copies of the reminiscences.
