Dibble Building, McGee St. Kansas City, MO

Dr. and Mrs. Leroy Dibble deeded the land to the college in 1915. The college deeded the property to Grinnell College Foundation in 1916, constructed a 4-story building, financed by mortgage, in 1917, sold the property to Bedford Realty in 1929. Bedford Realty turned the property back to the college in 1931. The mortgage was forecolsed in 1935-1936. Space in the building was leased to commercial establishments. Government farm programs papers, tax assessment, real estate report (full description of farm and buildings, with plat, 1937), correspondence with bankers, lawyers, etc. Correspondence with the farmer reveals some fo the farm problems of the 1930s (e.g. crop failures, organization of his coop dairy, details of livestock, crops planted, prices). 3 photos of farm buildings.

Lennox Furnace Co., Marshalltown, IA

Correspondence, most relating to donations by D. W. Norris and Lennox Furnace to the college. One relates to Lennox leasing Grinnell Foundry, July 17, 1946; one is a copy of a letter Norris sent to Stevens regarding naming dormitory for Norris, Jan. 28, 1949.
