Staff Council

The Staff Council, serving in an advisory role to the President, will examine issues related to staff members and encourage a balanced perspective and the open exchange of information. Its primary charge is to support the professional well-being of Grinnell College staff members while contributing to the College's mission.​

Woodruff, Anna M.

Anna M. Woodruff was born in Hartford, Ohio on July 28, 1844. She prepared for college in the public schools of Newton and Grinnell, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa College with the class of 1868. Her teaching career began in Newton public schools 1868-1877. Later, she taught in both Bozemen and Helena, Montana. She received an Iowa State certificate in 1871 and a Montana Life Diploma in June of 1895.

Hassed, Judith Anne Helfrich

Hassed was born on October 25, 1930. She attended Grinnell College, and graduated in 1952 with a major in English and minor in Classics. She died on January 10, 2016.

Palmer, Dorothy S.

Dorothy S. Palmer attended Grinnell College, earned a BA in 1962. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Iowa. She later worked for Grinnell College as Alumni Secretary and then Associate Director of Admission.

Foster C. Rinefort Jr.

Foster Christian Rinefort Jr. has a B.A. from Grinnell College in History & Business Administration, class of 1956. He also earned subsequent degrees at California State University, San Francisco and Texas A&M University. He grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He was active in track while at Grinnell. He left school before his senior year to complete his military service, but returned to finish his senior year.
